Service and Support, From Initial Diagnosis to End-of-Life
Dementia Support Specialist provides specialized supportive in-home care to people living with the symptoms of dementia. Our goal is to provide communities in and around Milwaukee, Wisconsin with customized options that can address this need.
These specifically designed options are tailored to the needs of every client. We examine every aspect from diagnosis to the end-of-life stage to determine the appropriate solution.
In the customization process, each client undergoes a life-story assessment. From the data acquired, we draft a personalized service plan.
DTPs and In-Home Activity Programs
Alzheimer’s Association surveys reveal that 80% of people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are homebound. This is why we focus on in-home activity programs and our dementia-trained professionals (DTPs) to escort clients to community events.
Extensive and Ongoing DTP Training
Also known as caregivers, DTPs are a direct reflection of the owner’s philosophy and ability. Each one at Dementia Trained Professionals receives extensive and ongoing training.
Our DTPs are required to participate in a minimum of 12 education hours each year. The focus of instruction is on behavior management and the conduct of an effective 1:1 leisure activity ratio for behavior prevention.
